Three polarizing disks whose planes are parallel and centred on common axis. The directions of their transmission axes relative to the vertical are respectively: θ1 = 15o, θ2 = 38o, and θ3 = 61o. A beam of light polarized along the vertical is incident onto the first polarizer with an intensity of I0 = 10 W/m². Calculate the transmitted intensity through all three polarizers. The answer is 6.7, but I am unable to get that.

Three polarizing disks whose planes are parallel and centered on common axis. The directions of their transmission axes relative to the vertical are respectively: θ1 = 39o clockwise, θ2 = 20o counter-clockwise, and θ3 = 23o clockwise. A beam of light polarized along the vertical is incident onto the first polarizer with an intensity of I0 = 30.0 W/m². Calculate the transmitted intensity through all three polarizers.

1. Answer these following questions on polarizers and light. a. A polarized light is incident on several polarizing disks whose planes are parallel and centered on common axis. Suppose that the transmission axis of the first polarizer is rotated 24° relative to the axis of polarization of the incident light, and that the transmission axis of each additional analyzer is rotated 24° relative to the transmission axis of the previous one. What is the minimum number of polarizer needed (whole...

9. A polarized light is incident on several polarizing disks whose planes are parallel and centered on common axis. Suppose that the transmission axis of the first polarizer is rotated 18° relative to the axis of polarization of the incident light, and that the transmission axis of each additional analyzer is rotated 18° relative to the transmission axis of the previous one. What is the minimum number of polarizer needed (whole number), so the transmitted light through all polarizing sheets...

part and in parallel planes. The transmission axis of the second sheet is 33 ∘ relative to the first one. The transmission axis of the third sheet is 90∘relative to the first one. Unpolarized light impinges on the first polarizing sheet. Part A What percent of this light is transmitted out through the third polarizer? Express your answer using two significant figures. I3/I0 ×100% =   %

a) Unpolarized light is sent through two polarizers. Its initial intensity is 35 W/m2, and the polarizing axes are at angles θ1 = 76° and θ2 = 90°, both relative to a common y axis. After passing through both polarizers, what is the intensity of the light? Express your answer in W/m2. b) Consider three materials with parallel interfaces. The first has n = 1.04, and the second has n = 1.60. A ray of light in the first medium...
