We are given 2 coins each with mass of 5g, a square (24 cm by 24 cm) piece of cardboard with mass 40g, string, and tape. I need to hang the piece of cardboard parallel to the ground with the 2 coins sitting in separate places on-top of the cardboard but the string that goes from the board to the ceiling cannot be connected at the center of the board. How would you find net torque of this system? How can you determine where to put the coins and string?
