How mass of a sub atomic particle varies with respect to (i) ALTITUDE and (ii) SPEED?

How mass of a sub atomic particle varies with respect to (i) ALTITUDE and (ii) SPEED?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Part 1 :- There is no change of mass of sub atomic particle with altitude

Let us take an example a proton would be of same mass weather you measure it at your home or at the peak of mount everest

part 2 :- mass of sub atomic particle increases with increase in speed, as you increase the speed of sub atomic particle its mass will start to increase .

The mass will increase according to Einstein relativistic formula

M = Mo/{1- (v/c)^2}^1/2

M is mass at speed v

Mo is the rest mass that is mass of particle at rest

V is the speed with which particle is moving

C is the speed of light

A particle A was moving at a speed of 0.8 c, with respect to the lab frame, in the +x- direction, when it decayed into two identical particles F and G , with G having momentum along the +x- direction. Q Computers has invented quantum computers. Each computer contains an exotic sub-atomic particle. Unfortunately this particle decays in the same manner as all radioactive particles. Therefore an average quantum computer only lasts for 14 months. The University has purchased one of these computers and Professor Squiggle wants to use it for 7 months. When he tries to book it he finds that it is already booked out for the first 5 months. So he books it for the next 7...
