a) Two long, parallel wires are separated by a distance 3.00 cm and are repelling each other with a force per unit length of 2.00×10−5 Nm−1 . If a current of 0.600 A is flowing along one wire, what is the current in the other wire? Are the currents flowing in the same directions or in opposite directions?
b) Two long, parallel wires are hanging by regularly spaced, 4.00 cm long cords from a common axis. The wires have a mass per unit length of 12.5 gm−1 , and both carry the same current, but in opposite directions. Find the current that is necessary to make each cord hang at an angle 6.00◦ relative to the vertical.
I have solved only part (a).
