Someone climes that he develops a new turbine that can achieve
the performance as described here. Air expands through the turbine
from 8 bar, 900 K to 1 bar, 400 K. The inlet velocity is small
compared to the exit velocity of 100 m/s. The turbine operates at
steady state and develops a power output of 3200 kW. Heat transfer
between the turbine and its surroundings and potential energy
effects are negligible. (Please treat the air as ideal gas with
cp=1.001 kJ/kg?K and cv=0.714 kJ/kg?K)
Is the above claim physically sound or not?
