d1 = 40 cm

1 cm = 10^(-2) m

d1 = 40×10^(-2) m = 0.40 m

d2 = 50 cm = 0.50 m

d3 = 47 cm = 0.47 m

Average displacement , D = ?

D = (d1+d2+d3)/(3)

D = (0.40+0.50+0.47)/(3)

D = 0.4566 m

D = 0.46 m (approximately)
