a ball is tossed vertically upward with an inital velocity of 19 m-s1 from an inital hight of 25.0 m. what hight will it reach at the apex of trajectory

Homework Answers

Answer #1

initial velocity, U = 19 m/s

initial height, h1 = 25 m

let h2 be the maximum height the ball reaches from the initial position.

Using the equation, V2 = U2 + 2as ( V =0 at the highest point of reach)

0 = U2 – 2g h2

h2 = U2 /2g = 19 x 19/2 x 9.8 = 18.4 m

the maximum height the ball reaches from the initial position, h2 = 18.4 m

the maximum height the ball reaches from the ground, H = h1 + h2 = 25 + 18.4 = 43.4 m

the maximum height the ball reaches from the ground, H = 43.4 m
