Two billiard balls of identical mass move toward eachother. Assume that the collision between them is perfectly elastic. If the initial velocities of the balls are 30 cm/s and -20 cm/s, assume friction and rotation are unimportant.

a) Derive an expression for the velocity and then calculate the velocities of the balls after the collision?

b) Find the final velocity of the two balls if the initial velocity of -20 cm/s has a mass equal to one half of the ball with initial velocity 30 cm/s
