Draw an experimental setup in the Laboratory in which you are working, where only the diffraction phenomenon is observed . Explain why you use each element you use in the setup.

Answer #2

Experimental setup:

Fresnel diffraction
If either source or screen or both are at finite distance from the diffracting device (obstacle or aperture), the
diffraction is called fresnel diffraction and the pattern is the shadow of the diffracting device modified by diffraction
effect. Diffraction at a straight edge, small opaque disc, narrow wire are examples of fresnel diffraction.

Elements used:

Source (S) : it is used to generate wavefront of light

Slit: It is used to diffract the light wave from the edges of the slits.

Screen: Screen is used to observe the fringe pattern of light after the diffraction.

Let’s think about the experiment where you flip a coin two times. Draw a tree diagram for this experiment. And how many outcomes are possible? List all the outcomes included in each of the following events. A = At least one head is observed. B = Not more than one head is observed. Are the events A and B in part (b), mutually exclusive? Explain why or why not.

You are a researcher working in a molecular laboratory. One day, you need to run a batch of PCRs. You assembled the reagents including Taq polymerase, made the reaction mixtures, and ran them in a thermocycler. After the PCR program ran to completion, you performed a gel electrophoresis to check the quality of the PCR product. To your dismay, all reactions appeared to have failed! Nothing showed up on the gel. You reviewed the thermocycler’s log, which displayed the following...

When studying metabolic pathways, there's many experimental techniques you can use in a lab. Imagine you are studying the effects of certain pills on the expression of the genes involved in metabolism. From your work in the facility, you know that the genes for all of the enzymes involved have been cloned. Your goal is to test how these genes respond to three separate concoctions; even though you have unlimited funds, you are short on time and can only pick...

You are working in an optical research laboratory. One of your projects involves the use of a double slit through which you pass blue laser light of wavelength 453 nm. Unfortunately, because of budget cuts, there are a lot of researchers in the same room, with lots of equipment stuffed in the room, and, in particular, lots of laser beams flying around the room. One day, you find that a second visible (400 nm to 700 nm) laser beam of...

The INDY Industrial Supply Company has finished a highly-sophisticated project where they separately determined order setup (S) costs for each of their main suppliers, based on the specific ordering process for that supplier. They have determined that the ACME Supplier, from which they order six different SKUs, the setup cost for an order (which has been highly automated) to be $32.50 per order, with an additional cost of $3.25 for each line on the order. Annual demand data and cost...

You need to make a buffer at pH = 5.25, but the only buffering chemicals you have available are all 20 standard alpha-amino acids. A) Using the table of pKa values presented in class, which is the best amino acid to use? Briefly explain why. Draw the molecular structures of the acid and conjugate base of this amino acid that will be in equilibrium at pH = 5.25

3) In a lab in electrical circuits, your laboratory colleague challenges you by asking you to connect a circuit with the total resistance (replacement resistance) 1 000 ?. One requirement is that you use at least three resistors, each of which is of different size, and that both serial and parallel connection must occur. Describe which resistors you used as well as clearly how to connect these. I'm new to physics, so please explain thoroughly, thank you!
