1. a) Mork while driving in his "Eggmobile" on the planet Ork drives off a cliff 500 m in height. If he was moving with a horizontal velocity of 100 m/s when he left the cliff, determine whether or not he will crash into Mindy who was at the time admiring Ork's landscape at a distance of 1100 m from the foot of the cliff. Show all calculations !

*NOTE: The gravitational field (acceleration due to gravity) on Ork is 0.5 that of the earth's gravitational field.

b) A cannon inclined at an angle of 30o above the ground is firing cannon balls with an initial velocity of 50 m/s.

i) Determine the time required for the balls to reach the maximum height.

ii) The velocity of the balls 2.5 s after firing.

iii) If a physics student was contemplating gravity underneath an apple tree at a distance of 250 m from the cannon, determine whether or not he would get hit.

c) During a training exercise a cannon ball is fired with a muzzle velocity of 89.2 m/s at an angle of 45o above the horizontal. Determine how fast the cannon ball will be moving just before it strikes the ground.

Jason kicks a ball off of a 15-m-high cliff. The kick is at an angle of 30 degrees above the horizon with a speed of 20 m/s. In this problem you will be ultimately solving for the distance from the cliff that the ball lands. 1. Solve for the time it will take the ball to hit the ground. 2. Solve for the horizontal distance from the cliff that the ball will land. r = r0 + V0t + 1/2at^2
