This is in reference to pendulums. Estimate the relative errors in the measurement of the periods for each of them.

For two different angles, one is 5degrees and the other is 55 degrees. Length of the string is 0.83m.

To calculate relative error, Just find the mean (average) of all the periods which you got from the experiment. After that find the deviation from mean for each period and again find the mean. As you did not provide any readings, Here is an example

Let's take the following time periods : 2.63, 2.56, 2.42, 2.71, 2.8

The mean will be 2.63+2.56+2.42+2.71+2.8 / 5 = 2.62

Error in measurement (deviation from mean)

2.63-2.62=.01sec

2.56-2.62=-.06sec

2.42-2.62=-.2sec

2.71-2.62=.09sec

2.80-2.62=.18 sec

Now find the mean of these errors

0.01 + 0.06 + 0.2 + 0.09 + 0.18 / 5 = 0.11

Relative error is = 0.11 / 2.62 = 0.04198

In percentage, it is 4 %

JUST USE THE ABOVE METHOD TO FIND RELATIVE ERROR FOR YOUR READINGS.

Two pendulums are swinging. One is a uniform rigid rod with a length of "l" and the other is a simple pendulum of relative length "l". Both have the same mass "m". Both are pulled back to the same angle of Theta relative to vertical and released simultaneously. a) Which one will reach the bottom of the swing first? b)Given the values l=80cm, Theta=30 degrees, and m=.200kg, what will be the speed of each pendulum as it swings through the...

Estimate the relative expansion of your prepared polytene chromosomes by comparing its packing ratio to a reference of 2x104 base pairs/nm for an interphase human chromosome (this reference was calculated based on data obtained from Am J Hum Genet, 2002). To estimate this ratio, you will first need to establish the average chromosome length (# DNA base pairs) in Drosophila virilis. This can be done by referring to the Genome Data Viewer database of Drosophila melanogaster to calculate the mean...

Two rocks are thrown simultaneously from the top of a very tall tower with identical speeds of v = 7.90 m/s, but in two different directions. (See figure.) One of them is thrown with an angle of 10.0 degrees below the horizontal, the other one at an angle of 50.0 degrees above the horizontal. How far will the rocks be from each other after 4.90 s? (Neglect air resistance and assume that the rocks will not hit the ground.)

What is the difference between body composition reference methods and anthropometric field methods? Both methods capture the same data Anthropometric field methods can be used as the gold standard for true body composition while reference methods are compared to that gold standard Reference methods are biologically-based, objective measures while field measures are mostly based on self-reported data collected in the field Anthropometric measures are typically more expensive than reference methods All of the following are advantages of CT and MRI...

Without external cues such as the sun, people attempting to walk in a straight line tend to walk in circles. It has been suggested that this tendency is due to internal asymmetries between individuals, or that individuals' legs differ in length or strength. Souman et al. (2009) tested for differences in individuals' tendencies to change direction by blindfolding 15 participants and asking them to walk in a straight line in an empty field. The numbers in this dataset represent median...
