I need a nice explanation with words (sentences) not just only numbers and numbers. Here is the following problem:
Question 4. Let A and B be the following vectors, A = 4N at 60º and B = 3.5 N at 150º, where “N” stands for Newtons.
Determine: A) A + B B) A – B C) 4A + 3B.
How does it come these right answers? (Step by step with graphs might help me a lot)
A) A+B = -1.03x + 5.21yN
B) A-B = 5.03x + 1.71y N
C) 4A+3B = -1.09x + 19.09y N
Thank you very much in advance.
Given that
A= 4N at 60 Degree
B= 3.5N at 150 degree
Now we have to calculate
Part (A) A+B
A= 4*{cos(60)i + sin(60)j }
A= 2i+3.46j N
B = 3.5*{cos(150)i + sin(150)j}
B= -3.303i+ 1.75j N
Now A+B = 2i+3.46j-3.303i+ 1.75j
A+B= -1.303i+5.21j N
Part (B) A-B
A-B= 2i+3.46j+3.303i-1.75j
A-B = 5.03i +1.71j N
Part (C)
4A+3B = 4(2i+3.46j)+3(-3.303i+1.75j)
4A+3B = -1.909i+19.09j N
Good luck
