Answer #1

(a) Given that,

RMS Current, I(rms) = 65.0 A

So, magnitude of the peak current, Ipeak = I(rms) / 0.707

= 65.0/0.707 = 91.9 A

(b) Peak emf generated by rotating coil, Eo = BANω ------------------------------------------(i)

Given that, RMS voltage produced, E(rms) = 160 V

So,

Eo = E(rms) / 0.707 = 160 / 0.707 = 226.3 V

Frequency of rotation, f = 83 Hz

So,

ω = 83 Hz x 2π rad/s = 521.4 rad/s

Therefore, from equation (i) -

A = Eo/(BNω)

= 226.3 / (0.045 x 550 x 521.4)

= 0.018 m^2 (Answer)
