Question

true or false: The resistance of a copper wire increases, when its diameter is increases.

true or false: The resistance of a copper wire increases, when its diameter is increases.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Increase in diameter increases the area of cross-section of the wire. Resistance is inversely proportional to the area of cross-section of the wire. Hence with the increase in diameter the resistance will decrease. Hence the statement is false.
