On a chilly day of -8oC you take a child out sledding. At one point, they sit atop a sled and their and the sled combined mass is 25kg. You pull them on the sled at a constant speed of 1 m/s for 1 km on the snow with a coefficient of friction of 0.2.

a) How much work did you do to pull them? (ignore the work you did to pull yourself)

b) Say your body temp is 37oC, and that your 1.5 m2 of surface area has an emissivity of 0.7. In the time you pulled them, how much heat did you lose to the environment?

c) How much food energy would you need to maintain your body temp?
