Why LED can be used as PV, but PV can't be used as LED?
LEDs can both emit and detect light. LEDs are not as sensitive to light as most silicon photodiodes.
LEDs when connected in forward bias will behave normally while when connected in reverse bias they can detect light.
While for Photodiodes, they need to be connected in a reversed bias way to detect light and when connected in forward bias they behave as normal diodes with no light emitting properties.
Therefore LED's can be used as PV but PV can't be used as LED.
