- the 1st second is from t = 0 to t = 1 s

- the 2nd second is from t = 1 s to t = 2 s

- in general, the nth second is from t = n-1 to t = n.

A weather balloon is rising at velocity  v = +58.1 m/s when a bolt falls from the from the carriage. Find the displacement, in m, of the bolt in the 56th second. As always, assume g is constant and that there is no air friction. The sign of the answer gives the direction of the displacement.

Part B:

Joe stands on the edge of a cliff 261 m high and fires a projectile upward, at an angle 35o to the horizontal. If the projectile hits the ground at the base of the cliff in 77.2 seconds, find the initial speed of the projectile, in m/s.
