Why are field and force different from each other?

Why are field and force different from each other?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Force and field can be thought as cause and effect , where field is the cause and force is the effect of that field , there is a field existing which depicts the pattern with which an object will experience a force ,so field is a mathematical concept which allows us to interpret what kind of forces will be acting if an object comes under its influence

For example electrostatic field can be visualised through lines of field and a charge will experience a force whenever it comes under the influence of this field

Magnetic Field due to a Current Show that two straight wires running parallel to each other, each carrying the same current I, exert forces on each other. (a) Draw a diagram showing how this force arises (b) Find the force, and distinguish the two cases (i) currents parallel, and (ii) currents antiparallel. If two wires carry current next to each other, they will exert a force on each other. The force is caused by magnetic fields. One current creates a magnetic field, and this field exerts a force on the other current. The magnitude of the field created by a long, straight current-carrying wire is given by Equation 1 below; B= (μ0i)/(2πr) where i is the current and r is the distance from the wire. The magnitude of the force exerted on...
