Question

which of these methods is used to determine which component in a circuit isn't working properly? voltage test, ohm amp draw or hopscotching

Answer #1

Hopscotching is the method used for the troubleshooting of an electrical circuit.

In this method,to find the faulty component, a voltmeter is used to measure the voltage at various points in the malfunctioning circuit. One probe of the voltmeter is connected to a common point and the other probe is kept at points before and after the switch to measure the voltage across it.

If the voltmeter shows the same reading at points before and after the switch, the circuit is closed. But if the voltmeter shows a reading of 0V, it means the circuit is open. The open circuit prevents the components from running properly.

If the voltmeter shows reading across all the components but still the circuit is not working, then the problem could be due to a defective load device.

Which colour probes, when properly inserted, go into which holes
of a multimeter in the ohm and voltage measuring mode. And, given a
positive voltage measurement, in this properly set meter, which way
will the current flow?

Determine the transformer equivalent circuit components referred
to the LV side and sketch the equivalent
circuit. Calculate the transformer voltage
regulation at full load with load power factor of 0.9
lagging.
Below is the test result which can be used to determine the
value of the components for the equivalent circuit.
Power of the transformer = 1 kVA
Open circuit test:
LV winding Voltage = 110 V
LV side ammeter = 690 mA
LV side wattmeter = 18 W

When working properly a machine that used to make
chips for calculation does not produce more than 4% defective
chips, wheanever the machine produces more than 4% defective chips
,it's needs a adjustment. To check if machine is working properly
the quality control department at the company often takes samples
of chips and inspect them to determine if they are good or
defective. One such random sample of 200 chips taken recently from
the productive line contained 12defective chips.use

A long solenoid is used as an inductor in an R-L circuit. The
solenoid has 165/m and a cross-sectional radius of 0.14 meters. It
is placed into a R-L circuit with a 18 Ohm resistor and a battery
initially. The battery is removed, the initial current is 3 amps,
and 8 milli-seconds after the battery has been removed, the voltage
across the inductor is 7 volts. What is the length of the solenoid
in meters?

A source circuit is used to drive a load with resistance RL =
30?. The Thevenin equivalent of this source circuit is
characterized by ?T = 2.5V and RT = 60?.
(a) Determine the maximum voltage ?max and maximum current imax
available from the source circuit.
(b) Compute the actual load voltage ?L and load current iL.
(c) Compare the actual power delivered to the load with the
maximum power available from the source circuit.

In order for a dc motor to function properly, it must be
protected from physical damage during the starting period. At
starting conditions, the motor is not rotating, and armature
generated voltage EA = 0 V. Since the internal resistance of a
normal DC motor is very low, a very high current flows. It is
possible for a motor to be severely damaged by such currents, even
if they last for only a moment.

In an effort to determine which of two manufacturing methods
used by workers produces the greatest number of parts, the research
department for ABC Manufacturing randomly selected six workers who
make the same part and measured the six workers’ output using
Method 1 and again using Method 2. Test that the mean
productivity between the two methods is the same at α=0.10. State
the hypothesis in terms of Method 2 - Method 1.

1. Create a voltage divider. Design a circuit which can provide
a fraction of the voltage ( x V) out of the regular batteries. The
equipment you can use: 2 D-batteries (about 1.5V each) and one
piece of nichrome wire and some connecting wires. If you need to
make 2V, how would you connect it? Draw a detailed circuit to show
the connection. Explain in detail why it works. Use a voltmeter to
check your design. Draw the voltmeter on...
