How much energy is used to lift a 10kg block from the ground to the back...

How much energy is used to lift a 10kg block from the ground to the back of a pickup 1.2m above the ground? Would it require less energy to drag the block up a ramp? What (in physics terms) is the benefit of using a ramp?
