A mad physicist assembled an EM wave generator. He claims that the generator is able to produce radio waves that have a frequency of 10 kHz and a wavelength of 30 meters. Use basic physics principles and simple calculations, explain why we could not trust his claims.

Answer #1

A wave which has frequency and wavelength travels at speed

A wave that have a frequency of 10 kHz and wavelength of 30 metres will propagate with speed

But we know that an electromagnetic wave travels at speed in vacuum. There is a difference of three orders in the speed. Therefore, we cannot trust his claims.
