Answer #1

Polarization is an important physical property of EM waves.it is an expression of the orientation of the lines of electric flux in an electromagnetic field.also it can be constant that is, existing in a particular orientation at all times, or it can rotate with each wave cycle.in Physics, polarization is defined as a phenomenon caused due to the wave nature of electromagnetic radiation. Sunlight travels through the vacuum to reach the Earth, which is an example of an electromagnetic wave. These waves are called electromagnetic waves because they form when an electric field interacts with a magnetic field.

Polarisation explain the wave nature of light ,as light wave are polarised in a particular plane .The longitudinal waves can not to be polarised .so,transverse wave can ony be polarised.Hence,Polarisation of light proves the transerve nature of light.

You have an experimental setup consisting of a light source, three polarization screens, and a light sensor. Logger pro records the intensity [lux] of the light incident to the light sensor vs. the angle of the polarization screen. The initial intensity of your light source (no polarizing screens) is  = 784 lux. Assume zero ambient light during the entire experiment. a) (4 pts) If you place ONE polarizing screen between the light source and light sensor, what is the expected intensity...

Q77. You can change the direction of polarization of light from vertical to horizontal. Behind the first filter, place a second at 45-degree orientation (clockwise) relative to the first, and a third at another 45-degree orientation to the second (also clockwise). By how much is the intensity reduced using these two filters? What happens if the middle filter is removed? (Question about The Nature of Light)
