A figure skater starts from rest and begins spinning with an angular acceleration of 15 rad/s2. How long will it take her to spin 8.6 radians?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Initial angular speed of skater,i=0

Angular acceleration,=15 rad/s2

Angular displacement,=8.6 rad.

According to constant rotational motion angular displacement is given by

=it+(1/2)t2=0+(1/2)t2

So

time t=(2/)1/2=(28.6/15)1/2=1.07 sec
