The Nobel Price in Physics 2019 was awarded by Jim Peebles , Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz for "contributions to our understanding of the evolution the earth's place in the cosmos" with one half to James Peebles and the another half for " theoretical discoveries in physical cosmology " jointly to Michel Mayor and Cider Queloz for " the discovery of an exoplanet orbiting a solar type star.

The Noble Price in physics was established in 1895 will of Alfred Nobel awarded for outstanding contributions in physics. The price is presented in Stockholm at an annual ceremony on December the anniversary of Nobel's death. The price is awarded annual by Royal Swedish Academy of Science .
