list the 5 parameters of a filter and how they are calculated

list the 5 parameters of a filter and how they are calculated

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Filters usually allow only certain frequencies through it.

Filters classified into following categories

1. Low pass filter

2. High pass filter

3. Band pass filter

4. Band stop filter

Parameters of the filters are:

1. Gain:

Gain = Output response/input response= Vo(s)/Vin(s)

2. Bandwidth

It is defined as the range of frequencies that are allowed by filter

Bandwidth = fhigh-flow

Where fhigh is higher cutoff frequency

flow is lower cutoff frequency

3. Cuttoff frequency

It is the frequency at which ratio of output to the input is 0.707

4. Quality factor

It is a measure of goodness of the circuit.

Quality factor(Q) = Resonant frequency / bandwidth

5. Stability

Stability can be determined by finding poles of the system.

Write a Python function count_bigger that takes two parameters, a nested list of objects and a threshold number. It returns an integer specifying how many of the objects anywhere in the nested list are numbers that are larger than the threshold. (For our purposes, "numbers" are either integers or floats.) There may be objects in the list other than numbers, in which case you would simply ignore them. Here are a couple of examples of how the function should behave...

Function name : matrixMultiplication Parameters : aMatrix (list), bMatrix (list) Returns Type: list of tuples Description : Write a function in PYTHON that takes in two matrices (list of tuples or list of lists) and multiplies the two matrices together. Assume that the given matrices will be valid, i.e. aMatrix will be n x m (n rows and m columns) and bMatrix will be m x ℓ (m rows and ℓ columns). *Assume elements of aMatrix & bMatrix will be...

Second order circuit as a band pass filter. 1. Consider a series RLC circuit of your choice with AC source. Find the resonance conditions (resonant frequency, quality factor cut-off frequencies and bandwidth. Simulate(multisim) the resonance condition by experimenting with AC signal of several different frequencies and comparing the output amplitudes. You need to show graphs of simulation with several different frequencies. Demonstrate that the simulation results confirm the calculated resonance effect. Make a band pass filter from circuit in (1)....
