Question

what is the difference between gravity and density?

what is the difference between gravity and density?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

The term " gravity " refers to gravitational acceleration. It represents the rate of change of velocity under the influence of gravitational force.

However, the term related to density is specific gravity. Density is defined as mass per unit volume. it is an absolute physical quantity. Units are kg/ m3.

Specific gravity is the ratio of the density of a material to the density of water at temperature 4 °C. As it is the ratio of same physical quantity ( densities ), it has no units.

Note: The density of water is maximum at 4 °C.
