Before selecting a pump we need to consider the below important factors:

Fluid: It is the most important factor in order to avoid the corossion, unnecessary wear and tear of the pump.

Flowrate : We have to know the flowrate in GPM(gallons per minute) in order to select the right pump. A higher flowrate means a larger pump is required.

Viscosity: Knowing the viscosity of the fluid to be pumped helps in selecting the appropriate pump. High viscosity pump required high robust pumping equipment.

Temperature: Knowing the temp of the fluid will help in deciding the pumping equipment that can bear the temperature required.

Pressure: Pressure conditions at the inlet and outlet of the pump will help in decising the right pump which can deliver the pressure required.
