There are only certain and a very professions that are licensed by the state governments such as lawyers , physicians, dentists , surgeons etc. These professions are licensed in the best interest of the people so that incompetent and unskilled workers cannot practice in the public and cause a potential harm to the society and its individuals.

It also increases the overall quality of services that are issued to the state people and makes sure that the services are worth the price they are paid and vice versa.
