Column Top pressure is generally maintained at 1.2 atm to 1.4 atm.
But the column bottom pressure is generally lower(1 atm-1.2 atm) than the column top pressure.
The pressure drops gradually in packed tower as we move from top to bottom this is because due to the absences of liquid pool in the packed tower.
Loading point in a packed column----Loading point of a column is when the gas velocity is high enough to restrict the flow of liquid. After this point, the pressure drops at a much faster rate till another point, known as the flooding point, when all the liquid is carried away by the gas. It marks the start of entrainment regime in columns.
