What effect does increasing the temperature of the liquid in a vessel have on the density and level of the liquid?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Ans :

Whenever a liquid is heated , it tends to expand. This means the liquid occupies more volume at higher temperatures even though the mass in unchanged.

Since density is given as : mass / volume , and volume of the liquid increases and mass is same , the density tends to decrease.

Increase in the volume causes the level of the liquid in the flask to rise or increase.

So increasing the temperature of liquid in the vessel causes its density to increase and level to increase.
