Reasons how people in Atlanta affect the water: Rapid urbanization in Atlanta making use of excessive water in the region. This reduces the water supply to other cities. Urbanization also brings with it pollution of the water level. This has created severe droughts from 2007 - 2009. Also the lives of endangered species living in the lake system is also affected.
