In the case where we increase impurities in feed, will the purge stream flow rate remain the same, or it will adjust accordingly so as to purge out the impurities in the stream to prevent accumulation

Homework Answers

Answer #1

If we increase impurities in feed then purge stream flow will be increased.

impurities to be removed so that the accumulation term can be nullified by flow out additional streams.A common way to provide for this is with a purge stream off of the recycle stream.

For example :

We need 0.975 F g and here we note that fresh gas assumed to contain 2.5 percent of inert or impurities. The purge gas, purge gas should comprise of all fresh excess product plus the impurities with fresh gas. So, this becomes F e all fresh excess product plus 0.025 into F g so this is the purge gas.

When you urinate, you increase pressure in your bladder to produce the flow. For an elephant, gravity does the work. An elephant urinates at a remarkable rate of 0.0060 m3 (a bit over a gallon and a half) per second. Assume that the urine exits 1.0 m below the bladder and passes through the urethra, which we can model as a tube of diameter 8.0 cm and length 1.2 m. Assume that urine has the same density as water, and...

1. Note that we assumed that the speed of the water at Point 1 was zero. In reality it is a small positive number that decreases as the water drains. Qualitatively, how would the slope of your graph change if you had kept this term? Would the slope increase? Decrease? Stay the same? Required information Chapter 17 Case: Reducing Ambiguity in Business Requirements The number one reason projects fail is bad business requirements. Business requirements are considered “bad” because of ambiguity or insufficient involvement of end users during analysis and design.     A requirement is unambiguous if it has the same interpretation for all parties. Different interpretations by different participants will usually result in unmet expectations. Here is an example of an ambiguous requirement and an example of an unambiguous requirement: • Ambiguous requirement:...
