state the factors that affect the rate of drying curve. With an aid of a graph depict the rate of drying curve and explain the phases depicted in the drying process.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Drying rate of a solid is affected by :

1) Temperature of the drying medium : More the temperature , higher the drying rate.

2) Humidity of drying medium : Lesser the humidity of gas used for drying purpose , more the rate of drying.

3) Flow rate of drying medium : Higher the flow, more the rate of drying.

4)Transport properties of the drying medium.

The picture attached below will explain the process in drying process : a) Constant drying period , b)1st falling period , c) 2nd falling period .

Two graphs , one X (moisture content) vs Time , second Rate of drying vs X (moisture content ) is shown in the adjoining diagram along with description of various phases is given with respect to second diagram.

There are several factors that affect the rate of a reaction. These factors include temperature, activation energy, steric factors (orientation), and also collision frequency, which changes with concentration and phase. All the factors that affect reaction rate can be summarized in an equation called the Arrhenius equation: k=Ae−Ea/RT where k is the rate constant, A is the frequency factor, Ea is the activation energy, R=8.314 J/(mol⋅K) is the universal gas constant, and T is the absolute temperature. __________________________________________________ A certain...
