How do you convert 664.71 MSCFH (million standard cubic feet per hour) of natural gas to MBtu/hr? I am looking for the firing rate of a burner. I know you have to use enthalpy tables for temperatures or something of the composition. (the composition is mainly CH4 Methane)
We know that,
1 million standard Cubic feet per day of natural gas flow= 41,571.45 cubic feet/hour in flow rate
1 million standard cubic feet per 24 hour of natural gas flow= 41,571.45 cubic feet/hr
1 million standard cubic feet per hour of natural gas flow= cubic feet/hr
=1732.14 cubic feet/hr
Also we know that, 1 cubic feet=1000 Btu
also 106 Btu=1 MBtu
1 Btu=10-6 MBtu
therefore we can say that
1732.14 cubic feet/hr= 1732.141000 Btu/hr= 1732.14100010-6 MBtu/hr
= 1.732 MBtu/hr
Which can be written as
1 million standard cubic feet per hour=1732.14 cubic feet/hr= 1.732 MBtu/hr
Now it is given that, there is 664.71 MSCFH (Million standard cubic feet per hour)
So it will be equal to =664.711.732 MBtu/hr= 1151.28 MBtu/hr
