1) Bio film is a group of microorganisms which sticks together and surface. These adherent cells embeded within slimy extracelluar matrix that is composed of extracellular polymeric substances.

Example: a. Dental plaque - Oral biofil that adheres to teeth consists of bacteria and fungi embeded in salivary polymers..

b. bio film formation in water pipelines

ii) Bio film will form in water pipelines with attachment of free floating bacteria to the inner surface of pipe which will increase the bacterial count in water.

iii)Bio film will form in microbial process of waste water treatment basin, attached growth medias and will anaerobic colonies, which will help reduction of biological load in waste water treatment plants..
