I am currently working on how to minimise the sucrose content from the filter cake produced by a rotary vacuum filter, i will like it to be more of chemical engineering, please your advise is needed ASAP. Thanks.
According to the situation the filter cake consists of higher water-soluble material sucrose and maybe a less soluble /insoluble material and as the other species.
Now the cake from the vacuum rotary filter is used as a packing in fluidizer a high-pressure super steam is provided at the bottom of the fluidized bed.
The stream flows through a voidage of the fluidized bed it losses energy and hence dissolves sucrose in the steam at the outlet at the fluidizer is at a low temprature and hence can be condensed easily to get a solution of water and sucrose from which sucrose can be separated with the help of crystallization.
And the residue is collected from the bottom of the bed.
