"The R. eutropha produce biomass as a by-product, whereas natural photosynthesis does not produce this type of by-product." Does natural photosynthesis produce biomass? why or why not? Is the statement true or false?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

The given statement is FALSE .

Because natural photosynthesis process also produces biomass.

Natural photosynthesis process produces biomass in a sufficient amout which can be further converted into renewable bioenergy. The residue from animals ,plants and/or microbial biomass can be further converted by microorganism into useful energy in the form of methane, ethane, hydrogen and then by several process it can be utilised to generate power(electricity).

Microbial biomass can be harvested diretly as biofuel such as biodiesel, biogas etc.
