Jackson was in power around 1829 and during this period, politicians were becoming hero and villans with various pen names. There was westward expansion and demands for loans were high. During this phase, Andrew introduced the principle of rotations in office which was called by the opponent party as spoils system.

He increased the role of newspaper in the politics and for this, even a single small town was not far from getting newspapers, they also had democracy to write in the newspaper.

He made it realise actually that it was the rule of people since people could criticise anything in newspaper now.
