What is the most dangerous range of dust size for humans?

A. Particles > 0.5 μm

B. Particles < 0.2 μm

C. Particles between 0.2 and 0.5 μm

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Answer.

No matter what size of dust , it always a problematic issue to human health .

Dust particles mainly cause the health effects associated with lungs and other respiratory diseases.

Larger particulate matter are easy to get trap to upper respiratory tract and smaller one may get deeper into the lungs causing severe damage to respiratory system. Particles of size less than 2.5 um causes severe health problems .

Particles size less than 0.2 um are the smallest one and can reach deeper into the lungs upto alveli air sacs may cause harmful effects to the lungs and Brain.

Pulmonary drug delivery devices are designed to produce particles of what size (what range of particle diameters)? List the 3 drug clearance mechanisms in the lung. In what region does each predominate and what cell types are involved in each mechanism? Why is it important to breath slowly and deeply when using a pressurized metered dose inhaler?
