The purpose of this analysis is to design and optimize the flash separation system of simple process flow sheets of hydrocarbon process. This process also explains energy requirement of separation systems. We have a feed stream containing 15% ethane, 20% propane, 60% i-butane and 5% n-butane at 50°F and atmospheric pressure, and a flow rate of 100 lbmole/hr. This stream is to be compressed to 50 psia, and then cooled to 32°F. The resulting vapor and liquid are to be separated as the two product streams in flash separator. Answer the following questions.

The suitable property package for the above mentioned problem can be Aspen Plus .As I've used this property package to complete my Project which involves,heating , compressing , and separating of the fluid streams.The main feature in this package is we can easily simulate the environment and we can do several chemical process.In this package we can select the best Equations of state to perform the calculations like RK,SRK,Peng Robinson etc.,depending upon the properties of the fluid streams that are involved.The databank present in this property package is also high.
