  • Cu2O(s) + C(s) → 2Cu(s) + CO(g)
  • Entropy is measurement of disorderness of molecules. The more the disorderness the more is entropy.

Now Gas is more disorder than liquid. And liquid is more disorder than solid

So, entropy of gas is higher than liquid. And entropy of liquid is higher than solid

In given reaction, reactants are both in solid phase, when products contain solid and gas phase.

So, entropy of products is higher than reactants.

So, change in entropy =

entropy of products - entropy of reactants

So, change in entropy is positive.
