(5 pts) 250 m3/s of air at 60% relative humidity is sent to a spray cooler and leaves saturated at 25 °C in an adiabatic process. What is the initial temperature of the air? (Use the psychrometric chart in your textbook).

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Solution :

Relative humidity = 60%

Saturation temperature = 25 c = 77 F

From the psychrometric chart,

We start from Saturation temperature from 77 F to Relative humidity 60% and we get one point in chart And from that point which is showed in image which blue color. we draw straight line to bottom towards dry bulb temperature which is 88 F, which is initial temperature of air.
