Answer #1

Objective:

To prepare/synthesize nitrobenze by nitration of benzene with sulfuric acid and nitric acid.

Introduction:

  • The production of nitrobenzene is one of the most dangerous processes conducted in the chemical industry because of the exothermicity of the reaction (ΔH = −117 kJ/mol).
  • The nitration process involves formation of the nitronium ion.
  • This is then followed by an electrophilic aromatic substitution reaction.
  • Chemical Reaction involved :
    • HNO3 + H+ ⇌ NO2+ + H2O

Background:

World capacity for nitrobenzene in 1985 was about 1.7×106 tonnes. Nitrobenzene is a yellowish, oily, aromatic nitro-compound with an almond-like odor that emits toxic fumes of nitrogen oxides upon combustion. Nitrobenzene is primarily used in the manufacture of aniline, but is also used in the manufacture of lubricating oils, dyes, drugs, pesticides, and synthetic rubber.

In synthesis of nitrobenzene by nitration of benzene, we should stirr solution vigorously to prevent the layer separation between nitrobenzene layer and acid layer. Why nitrobenezene layer should not be formed? As I thought, if the layer is formed, it will be easy to separate nitrobenzene from the solution, so it is desirable to make nitrobenzene layer. Please explain the reason why we should stirr solution to prevent layer separation.

ABSTRACT: The objective of this study was to test a variety of bush meat products sold by meat retailer. Police investigate the incident and seized the knife. There was a small piece of tissue adhering to the knife for further investigation. DNA was extracted from the meat sample and PCR done using Forward: L14841 (5'-AAAAAGCTTCCATCCAACATCTCAGCATGATGAAA-3') and Reverse: H15149 (5'-AAACTGCAGCCCCTCAGAATGATATTTGTCCTCA-3') primer. after that dna sequencing performed for identification of species.
