9). 99mTc eluate yielded 2.0 Ci at 6:30 am in a 20ml vial.

      a. What is the concentration at 6:30pm? (Please use mCi)

b. What is the concentration at 10:00pm?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Solution:

Half life of 99mTc, t1/2 = 6 hours

Decay constant,

Initial activity, Ao = 0.5 Ci

Time between 6:30 am to 6:30 pm, t = 12 hr

Therefore, the activity after 12 hr

A = 0.125 Ci

Therefore, the concentration at 6:30 pm is

= (0.125 Ci)/20ml

= 0.00625 Ci/ml

= 6.25 mCi/ml

Part (b):

Total time from 6:30 am to 10:00 pm, t = 15.5 hr

Therefore, the activity after 12 hr

A = 0.083427 Ci

Therefore, the concentration at 6:30 pm is

= (0.083427 Ci)/20ml

= 0.0041714 Ci/ml

= 4.1714 mCi/ml

Calculate the initial molarity for Fe3+ and SCN- in each of the 6 vials. Using the molarity of FeSCN2+ at equilibrium in each of the six trials, determine the molarity of each reactant when equilibrium is reached. I'm really confused on how to do this. Could someone please give me an example of just how to do the first one? Data I have: - initial concentration of Fe3+ = 1.8 * 10-4 M - initial concentration of SCN- = 2.0...

The restaurant owner wants to find out what the peak demand periods are, during the hours of operation, in order to be better prepared to serve his customers. He thinks that, on average, 60% of the daily customers come between 6:00pm and 8:59pm (equally distributed in that time) and the remaining 40% of customers come at other times during the operating hours (again equally distributed). He wants to verify if that is true or not, so he asked his staff...
