If the pressure were halved (i.e. to 2.5 MPa), what would happen to the fugacity and fugacity coefficient? Briefly explain (1-3 sentences) without any calculation.

In thermodynamics Fugacity of a real gas is the effective partial pressure of the system. It is equal to the partial pressure of an ideal gas which has same chemical potential.

Fugacity of real gas is depends on pressure and it reduces with decrease in pressure and at low pressures value of fugavity constant slightly increases and approches to 1.

Here, when pressre halved, fugacity takes a value less than 2.5Mpa and value of fugacity constant increases from 0.77.
