  • feed water to the boiler has to be purified to reduce the corrosion effects on the tubes inside the boiler. this can be done be the following methods.
  • firstly, the raw water is treated with alum to remove the charged particles from the water.
  • then, the water is sent to the cation exchanger where the catalyst zeolite removes the sodium and potassium ions from the water.
  • sodium and potassium ions are impurities which will be deposited on the walls of the boiler.
  • to reduce the corrosion levels, the water is treated with the phosphate based chemical which inhibit the effect of oxygen presence in the feed water.
