A firm that uses the localized website is Nike. A firm that uses a standardized website is Hewlett-Packard. There are the following reasons why these firms use these strategies:

1. Hewlett-Packard uses a standardized website to reach its customers because its products cater to a standard customer segment. The firm does not have to customize its products according to the local market like Nike is required to do.

2. The target customers for both of the companies are quite different. Nike has a vast variety of customers who are geographically scattered while the target customers of Hewlett-Packard are almost the same across different nations.

3. Nike has to provide its products and services according to the culture of the local market while Hewlett-Packard does not have to do the same as it deals with in technology and innovation.
