from your perspective what are the benefits limitations of purchasing a pair of jeans directly from a manufacturer rather than a retailer?
what retailers would be considered intratype competitors for a convenience store chain such as 7- Eleven ? what firms would be intertype competitors?
I am always looking to purchase jeans directly from the factory outlet and company owned outlet because several benefits like rate will be comparative minimum against market rates, some old and unique collection possible, original jeans possible and easy replacement facilities in the case of manufacturing defects.
Limitation of purchasing a pair of jeans from the manufacturer are like limited numbers of collection, old stocks, lack of fresh arrivals and etc.
Wal-mart neighborhood could be the intratype competitor, because Wal-mart neighborhoods provide same products and service with 7-Eleven such as food, coffee, etc. Shell could be an intertype competitor. 7-Eleven serves gas for cars, Shell is a gas station. They both provide gas, this is Competition between firms in different types of businesses but which sell the same product.
