Chiquita,s corporate responsibility program does create conflict between stakeholder and the owner. Although this corporate responsibility program does bring conflict between the two and the company also seems to be benefiting from it also. CR program is what make chiquita stand out from its compitation and also allow consumer to put a brand on fruit. One of the Chiquitas main stakeholder is its employees abroad. A lot of time these areas of the countary are not held to the same ethical standard as those set in the united state. This is the one reason that led Chiquita to the adopt the SA8000 standards. with these standard Chiquitas has how raised the bar for food safety , labor standard, and employee health and safety. Chiquita is also adding terrorist group resulting in 25 million dollar fine. this show how corporate responsibility helped stakeholder but it can also hurt shareholder.
