The application of Financial modelling can be divided into two parts:

1. Finance

Investment banking-To value the companies value by forecasting its revenues, networth, financials.

Project Finance- To check the viability of the projects

Mergers and Acquisitions- by assessing the value of the company.

Corporate finance- Companines asses their own projects and it provides an input for funding plans.

Application in non finance

Business plan preparation- revenue and cost projections can help building the business plan

Decision making - it helps in quantifing the situations and take sound decisions based on the facts and not on predictions.
